Wish & Wrap

How it works

From "what do you want?" to wrapped

Here's the whole journey, from setting up your family to handing over the gift.

  1. Create your account. Sign in with your email address. We send you a one-time code, so there's no password to remember. Then name your family and add your people: partner, kids, parents, grandparents, cousins and friends.
  2. Make lists for each occasion. Everyone gets their own wish list, and there's a shared family list for things you'll all enjoy. Pick the occasions you celebrate, like Christmas, birthdays or Mother's Day, and the dates fill in on their own. Kids under 13 don't sign in; a parent looks after their list.
  3. Add gifts. Paste a link from almost any store, or search by name. On iPhone you can also scan a barcode, snap a photo or screenshot, or say it out loud. Anything can be typed in by hand, too. Add the size, color or a note so shoppers get it right.
  4. Share with family and friends. Invite family into the app with a code. Relatives without an iPhone can sign in on the web, and anyone can shop from a shared link in their browser. You choose who can see each list, and you can hide a single wish from a single person.
  5. Reserve it in secret. When you decide to get something, tap "I'll get this." Other shoppers see that it's covered, so nobody buys it twice. The person on the list never sees who reserved or bought it. You can mark it bought, arrived, wrapped and given, and undo a step if you tap the wrong one.
  6. Buy from the store you like. Each gift shows stores that carry it. Tapping one opens that retailer's own website or app, where you buy as normal. Wish & Wrap isn't the seller; the retailer handles price, shipping and returns.
  7. Keep the surprise. Your Shopping page tracks everything you're getting, for whom and for which occasion. Planned gifts someone never added to their list stay private to you.
